Camp Markuva #008 - Maybe Laura

<100% Vinyl>

Podcast Series 14 | Maybe Laura

Introspective Electronics

Laura recorded just over an hour of sensual and deeply reflective soundscapes for us, gently oscillating between fourth-world and devotional ambient, experimental electronica and shadow-tinted downtempo. This journey’s pious tone is a thread holding it together as it unravels and exhibits its many faces. Listening in, we bear witness to our past lives unfolding before our mind’s eye, stories dated to ancient times and others holding hands with now, one track at a time ✨🎴✨

Intrinsic 31 - Maybe Laura

The curious ear of Maybe Laura has led her into constantly proliferating fields of music and culture. Born in Lithuania and now residing in London, she continues to nourish herself with the scent and influences of the city, with new discoveries waiting around every corner.
Bouts of cinematic tension underpin a steady and quiet inquiry into the deep contemplative mind - where sweeping orchestral motifs glide alongside introspective acoustic riffs and rippling organic matter. This work she presents here tells a very human story, memories of centuries past interweave with grace and a wonderful kind of mystery. Like the echoes of those footsteps her sounding journey pulsates further into ether, illuminated by the fantastical and dreamful qualities of such artefacts.

World Of Light - Maybe Laura

"But every man is more than just himself; he also represents the unique, the very special and always significant and remarkable point at which the world's phenomena intersect, only once in this way and never again.
That is why every man's story is important, eternal, sacred; that is why every man, as long as he lives and fulfills the will of nature, is wondrous, and worthy of every consideration. In each individual, the spirit has become flesh, in each man the creation suffers, within each one a redeemer is nailed to the cross.”
(Hermann Hesse, Demian. Die Geschichte von Emil Sinclairs Jugend)

Eternity In An Hour - Maybe Laura

‘I believe that we can live in heaven or hell right here, right now, in our physical bodies, on this planet. We don’t have to wait until we die. We can be outside ourselves, ungrounded, disconnecter from our intuition, navigating life completely from the mind, suspicious of everyone, afraid of competition, jealous, angry and holding on to grudges and emotional pain that make us sick. Or we can be connected to our hearts and our choices, and use our minds as a tool for kindness and healing. We can be living in the worst life of our imaginings, but we can turn it around and start to create our best life. Most of us are living in between the worst and the best, but we can make choices to move into the best without feeling guilty for doing so. We are here to shine our light, so the first step is to allow ourselves to do just that.’
Recorded in October 2018
